1.
You were the big shot thing
I probably should have known that
I’d be in trouble The minute that we knew
That night You and I were looking at fire You were a long shot thing
Ignition of the senses
That fantasy You keep away from mention And I Never thought I’d step in its light But maybe it did mean more
 Nothing felt like that before
Took over every single little part of me with it
 That’s just how it goes
Some make you fall through the floor With everything It was you and me baby In the back of a car
Ignoring everything A rush to the start
And you were kissing me I never felt more alive
It was you and me baby Backed to the wall
Wasn’t meant to be But I can recall
 Embers flickering
Our little moment in time I was living with the dream What had even happened I couldn’t keep up with beauty as a habit I couldn’t keep a hold in your sight You kept your distance to the thing I turned empty hearted Wasn’t what you wished for Suddenly I doubted And our time Never seemed to ever arrive

about

"It could be the natural progression of time that accounts for the seeming ubiquity of nostalgia that permeates my day to day life. From the rebooting of one time favorite TV shows and movies, to the never ending onslaught of click bait nostalgia that trolls my Facebook feed. Maybe it's cyclical and I'm just catching the first wave now. Whatever the reason, given everything happening in the world these days, a little honest to goodness nostalgic escapism might be just what the doctor ordered. If that's your prescription, Singing River is here to fill it for you. On their newest track, "Embers," you can pick up that coal that burned in you years ago and realize it's still hot. This track will speak to you if you're still burning hot in a new relationship, if you're remembering what that felt like, or even if you're just pining for that one little moment in time. There's something about that kind of moment that will always burn, and "Embers" burns brightly with it. It's a little bit Van Morrison, a more earnest She & Him, and everything that can make Americana great again."
